All true! I don’t deny it. :) In my specific job, Apple devices are still fairly important, but it’s nothing like it used to be. Part of being a pro is finding a way to get the job done under any possible circumstances. Most of my complaining was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, since I know I personally still prefer macOS and iOS, and I’m making a decision to be stuck here. But I think there is a serious side to it too, which is that when a company sets up a walled ecosystem, it can influence a customer’s values to change in subtle ways, and I do believe that happened to me at different times. And I didn’t realize it until much later.
